| Misappropriation of PMGSY funds | | |
Rajouri, Feb 14: Sudarshan Choudhary, NCP General Secretary J&K and its spokesperson toured the Rajouri District to hold meetings with the locals villagers belonging to this area.
During this visit it was observed that 'Road Project' from Chingas to Rani Badotar having distance of 4.16 at the kms cost of Rs 322.79 lac allotted to Puran Chand Contractor. It is evident from the Sign Board that dates of commencement and completion has not been mentioned on it. NCP Leader expressed his deep concern that if this is the state of affairs of PMGSY then what will be the fate of other local projects. On paying a personal visit he has discovered that the work has not been completed and the Crores of Rupees have been embezzled. Another project under PMGSY is also in a dilapidated condition with an estimated cost of Rs. 118.58 Lac. It is not clear from where this road starts but it goes to 'Bagnoti Mohra' Distance is also confusing. This work has also been allotted to Puran Chand contractor of Shakti Nagar, Jammu. Date of completion of work is given 11-11-2009 but it appears as if the work has not been taken up to all. Exact condition of the road under this project is visible from the Photographs taken. Mr. Choudhary further said that state NCP high command under the State Presidentship of for rmer Minister Thakur Randhir Singh has taken a vow to expose corrupt nexus between politicians, bureaucrats and land grabbers. |
