| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 2 held | | | early times report Jammu/Kathua, Feb14: Police seized 12 bovine being illegally transported from Punjab to J&K State after the arrest of two bovine smugglers in two separate Nakas at Palli and Jarai of district Kathua today. As per police reports Police party of P/S Kathua received information regarding illegal transportation of bovine animals from Punjab to J&K State. Police laid down a naka at Palli and intercepted one truck (JK02AD 0705) and during the search Police recovered 09 Bovine animals from the said truck and arrested two accused persons namely Mohd Sharif (Driver)S/O Mohd Gani R/O Sidhra Jammu and his associate namely Riaz Ahmed S/O Shah Ali R/O Channi Himmat Jammu. A case FIR No. 52/2013 U/S 188 RPC 3/5 CA Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against the arrested accused persons. Similarly, Police, during Naka duty at Jarai Kathua intercepted one Mohindra Load Carrier (JK02AV-8606), driven by one Vipan Kumar S/O Jagdish Raj R/O Chak Bakhtawar R.S.Pura Jammu on its way from Punjab to J&K State. On seeing the Police, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle with 03 animals. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused. A Case FIR N0.53/2013 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at P/S Kathua. |
