EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 14: A five-day workshop on "Broad-casting Skills" today began at Government College for Women, Parade Ground Jammu here today. The workshop has been organized by the College in collaboration with Depart-ment of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu with the objective to reach out to the youth and enhance their employability skills and thus develop a theoretical and practical understanding of the basic skills and techniques necessary to produce audio production work in radio broadcasting. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Poonam Dhawan, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu. Prof Hemla Aggarwal, Principal, Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu, Prof Shashi Kaul, Head of Department, P.G. Home Science who is also the Director, Center for Women Studies, GDC Parade, Prof Nidhi Kotwal, Dr. K.C. Dubey former director, Radio Kashmir Jammu and Prof Rita Jitendra, eminent broadcaster were the special guests at the inaugural function. Dr. Kavita Suri, Assistant Director DLL, Ravi Kant Sharma, Radio Kashmir Jammu, Dr Bharti Prabhakar and many others were also present at the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dhawan emphasized the need and importance of such activities and promised to hold more such events which go a long way in the overall personality development of the students. This five-day workshop on "Broadcasting Skills" would bring together the best resource persons in the field of broadcasting who would dwell upon various themes related to broadcasting like history of broadcasting, AIR code, communication and presentation skills, pronunciation and articulation, radio drama, writing for radio, features, documentaries, art of interviewing and radio as an agent of change. |
