| Another school going minor student crushed to death | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu/Udhampur, Feb 14: Barely after the seven days when a teen girl student was mauled to death by a school bus in Jammu another teenaged student was crushed to death today by an Indian Air Force (IAF) vehicle, triggering protests and road blockade in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said. Locals and relatives of the deceased also staged a protest against negligent driving by the driver of vehicle. According to police sources a Tata Sumo of Indian Air Force (IAF) hit a school going minor student at Rond-Dumel area here today in Udhampur district. The bystanders and rushed the injured teen to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors, they said. Police reports giving details of tragic incident said that 12 yrs boy was fatally injured when a Tata Sumo hit him at near KV No-2 School Dhar road Udhampur. They added deceased identified namely as Dimanshu s/o Darshan Kumar r/o Jaganoo Morh Udhampur after closure of school while walking towards his residence was hit by Tata Sumo (04-CO-86174W). After the doctors announced the child brought dead the locals and relatives of the deceased staged the protest and also blocked the Dhar Road NH No 2 for half an hour. However after receiving the information about the incident Addl SP Udhampur Benam Tosh rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors. Addl SP Udhampur, while assuring action against guilty said that driver of the vehicle involved in the tragic accident has been arrested and case stands registered accordingly in this regard. He also informed further investigation in this case is on. The incident took place when the Jammuites yet have not reconciled from the shock and grief when a seventh class student was crushed to death inside the school premises by the school bus on Thursday. A seventh class student identified as Suruchi Choudhary of 7G was approaching her school bus when she has hit by a bus of route D-132 bearing registration number JK02T0474 and was mauled between the two buses to death on February 7. |
