Jammu, Feb 14: A contractor was booked by the police on Thursday in his alleged connection with multi crore land fraud, the sources said. According to sources, the alleged accused identified namely as Talib Hussain alias Munna son of Haji Yousuf Mohd of Bathindi has been booked on court direction under section 420,467,468 and 471 RPC.
The land fraud erupted after one Suny Sethi son of BB Sethi of Channi Himmat lodged complaint in the court alleging there in that the contractor Talib Hussain duped him Rs 1.25 crore. According to complainant the contractor asked him that he had 68 kanal land in Birpur which he intended to sell and the deal was fixed on Rs 7 crore.
"The contractor took Rs 1.25 crore from him in advance and gave him documents of the piece of land in question, sources said further adding, "on being inquired it was ascertained that the document was forged for vested interests."
Meanwhile , police sources said that though they had registered a case against him but the contractor is evading arrest. They said that hunt has been on to arrest him. |
