JAMMU, Feb 14: With highest 14 medals in their tally, including six gold, the combined team of Post Graduate (PG) Departments looks confident to take away the overall men's championship trophy in the ongoing 40th Inter-Collegiate Inter-College Athletics Meet of University of Jammu, here today.
On the second day of the competition, PG male athletes added eight medals to their yesterday's tally of six to virtually seize the rights to win the overall trophy. However, a couple of events are yet to be decided on the concluding day tomorrow, but as the figures indicate, PG's lead was invincible. However, the GGM Science College follows the PG team with eight medals, including three gold and four silver. Likewise male athletes, PG women too have maintained an edge over competitors from other colleges. PG women have already won 10 medals, including three gold medals, at the end of day two events. Government College for Women (GCW) Parade trails with six medals, including two gold while Government Degree College (GDC) Samba won three medals to make their presence felt. Today's competition was supervised by the penal of technical officials, including Nirmal Singh, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Narinder, Gurvachan Singh. These officials were assisted by the students of BPEd and MPEd of the Department of Physical Education, JU.
