JAMMU, Feb 17 : BJP today warned to gherao the State Assembly on March 14 in protest against the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah's recent statement on Guru's hanging and host of other issues facing the people of the state. This was announced by party national general secretary, J P Nadda while addressing a party 's once day convention here today. The BJP national general secretary organization Ram Lal was also present on the occasion. Condemning recent statement of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who had voiced concern over the manner in which Afzal Guru the mastermind of Parliament blast was hanged, BJP termed it as a threat to national integrity. He said this statement reflects the mindset of the Political Party which Mr Abdullah is belonging. The Party for minor political gains has put the national interest at stake by making such an unfortunate statement, he added. Nada said BJP in protest against the remarks of CM and other host of issues including rampant corruption, disparity with Jammu and Ladakh regions and problems being faced by PoK, West Pak and Kashmiri refugees, BJP has decided to ghearo State Assembly on March 14. Making a dig at Congress for remaining mum on Mr Abdullah's statement, Mr Nadda said this shows how greedy they are to remain in power. The Congress with its quietness over the statement shows that it does nto value the decision of Apex Court and Presidnet of the country, he added. Accusing the State Government of rampant corruption, Nadda said it is the cause of mis- governance which also leads to security lapses. He said along mis-governance the security is also taken lightly in the state. Mr Nadda, while criticising the Chief Minister who had advocated for removing of AFSPA from some parts of the state, said it is not possible. ``If a person commits a crime in the area where AFSPA is in force and flees to the area where from it has been removed how the Government can track him down'' he asked? He also accusing coalition Government of regional discrimination and said that Jammu and Ladakh regions still face discrimination in the field of development and employment. ``The regional disparity is on the peak in the state while the democratic rights of the people have also been usurped '', he added. He said the Jammu and Ladakh regions are deprived of their due share while the money meant for the developmental projects in Kashmir goes down the drain. ``Crores of rupees have been spent on cleaning of Dal Lake under Dal Development Project but Dal has not still been cleaned till date and it will never be cleaned as the leaders themselves don't have clean heart'' he added. Nadda also blamed the coalition of denying the democratic rights of the people and said 73rd and 74th amendments of Indian Constitution have not been implemented in the state which was meant for empowerment of Panchayts and local bodies. While the amendment was implemented in all other states of the country why not in J&K, he asked? He said the J&K Panchayats have no right to directly receive money coming from Delhi so that it can reach people properly. The situation in the state is so grave that Panchayat members feel scared today, he added. Nada, while expressing solidarity with PoK refugees, Kashmiri migrants and West Pak refugees, said their problems are still unresolved. He also announced the appointment of BJP leader and MLA Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria as Party leader in State Assembly in place of Jugal Kishore Sharma who was elected state president of the Party. The Samelan was addressed by BJP state president Jugal Kishore Sharma, newly elected Leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Ashok Khajuria, National Executive Member, Dr Nirmal Singh, MLA Sham Choudhary, Party general secretary, Kavinder Gupta, vice president Bali Bhagat and Lalit Moza. |
