Anantnag, Feb 17: During day long market checking, one storekeeper of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department was placed under suspension by District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Anantnag after Additional Distrcit Development Commissioner (ADDC), Anantnag raided his store and caught him red-handed while over charging customers. Suspended store keeper of CAPD department has been identified as Mohd Ayoub Lolu, son of Gulam Hassan Lolu, of Anantnag. Sources said that Ayoub Lolu commonly known as Biji Lolu is Ex-Militant who crossed LoC for getting arms training and left his Job. They said that after remaining active as militant for several years, he managed to get his job back and since then remains highly influential man in the department who has reach to higher officials with the result remained unaffected by the public complaints. Locals said that the store keeper is holding the charge of more than five stores in Anantnag town including Shaksaz Mihalla, Gajinag, Kadipora, Laizbal, SK Colony A, B which is clear violation of norms as several store keepers have been allegedly attached without reasons. Eyewitnesses said that ADDC, who was leading the market checking drive, raided the store of Lolu and caught him red-handed while over charging the customers. Reportedly the storekeeper is also involved in BPL ration card scam in which extended undue benefits to rich people instead of poor. ADDC, Anantnag, confirmed the suspension and said, "Yes, by the orders of DDC, the storekeeper has been placed under suspension." When asked how the storekeeper is holding charge six centers at one time, he said. "We are going to constitute a committee for a probe in this regard and also have directed Deputy Director CAPD to submit a detailed report of staff strength and related things within two days." |
