Jammu, Feb 17: Jammu and Kashmir Against Corruption (JKAC) a social organization, staged Dharna outside Raj Bhawan, here today. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers expressed great concern over the revelations of several scandals involving dwindling of several lakhs of crores of Public money by the Politicians, Ministers and Parliamentarians badly shaking the faith of commoners in the systems and the democracy on one hand and bringing bad name to the Nation on the other hand. Referring to the un-bridled corruption in the State, they also castigated the Omar Abdullah led coalition government for its complete failure in checking the menace of corruption. They also underlined the need to carry forward the Campaign to awaken the common masses against the corruption prevailing in every Department Headed by a tainted bureaucrat or the Minister. They further added that it is a matter of shame that J&K State stands at No.1 Position amongst the most corrupt states in the country as per a survey conducted by Transparency International. Sheikh Abdul Rehman Ex MP, Advocate Jamil Kazmi, Uday Chand, Retired Judge Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj, Col B S Chowdhary including other leaders addressed the protestors.
