J&K loses to Punjab by 48 runs in Vijay Hazare

JAMMU, Feb 17: Jammu and Kashmir today lost to Punjab by 48 runs in the ongoing North Zone limited overs competition for Vijay Hazare Trophy at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, Dharamshala in Himachal.
Earlier, J&K won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, in a match reduced to 23 overs a side, Punjab made 168 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, J&K could not chase the target and the whole side bowled out for 120 runs in 20.4 overs.
Punjab made a fine start with Madan and Inder Singh adding 102 runs for the first wicket partnership. Inder remained highest scorer with 41-ball 60 runs while Madan added 38 runs. From J&K, all rounders, Parvez Rasool and Ram Dayal took two wickets each.
Later, J&K could not survive for given 23 overs while chasing 169 runs target and lost all their wickets for 120 runs in 20.4 overs. Parvez Rasool remained top scorer with 34-ball 33 runs while opener, Shubam Khajuria contributed 24-ball 25 runs hitting two sixes and one four.
