| JKAP to postpone Inter-Bn sports meet | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23: In view of inclement climate and tense situation in Kashmir Valley where majority of the cops have been deployed, the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) think of shifting the scheduled annual Iinter-Battalion Sports Meet to end of March therwise planned to be held from March 2 at different venues of the Winter Capital, the annual activity of the Armed Police may get new dates for its conduct, informed sources told reporters. In view of the tense situation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have already postponed another annual event of Police Mela to March three. Police Mela was scheduled for tomorrow at Gulshan Ground, here. Furthermore, a number of teams of J&K Police shall be taking part in the All India Police Games in Volleyball Cluster at Dharmshalla in Himachal Pradesh from March 16. In this cluster competition in handball, basketball and kabaddi besides volleyball shall take place among police forces from all over the country. "Holding of the inter-battalion activity before the All India Police Games is something unfeasible. Most of the central team players are at present busy with their practice sessions, so there is every possibility of shifting the Inter-Battalion Sports Meet of Armed Police to third week of March," the sources disclosed. |
