Police fails to arrest student of BGSB booked for ragging

RAJOURI, Feb 23: Two engineering students of the BGSB University have been booked for ragging two junior students at their hostel, but police has still failed to trace the second student who had escaped from the spot.
However, misconduct on part of the students of the Baba Gulam Shah Badshah (BGSB) University has become a general rule, especially for the Kashmir based students, but university administration has been sitting silent on the matter owing to political considerations.
Reports said that two junior students of Engineering and Technology of BGSBU, (identified as Tahir Mohi-ud-Din and Shaheb Nawaz in their written complaint to police said that today two senior students called them in an isolated place and started ragging them. The senior students who have been identified as Sahil Meraz and Sehrab Shokat have been booked (FIR 74/13) under section 4 of Prohibition of Ragging Act-2011.
Sources said that both junior and senior students had fight while playing cricket match in front of university authorities over a minor issue which finally laid to serious one, however, senior students have also misbehaved and manhandled the security incharge of the University identified as retired DySP, Mir Hussain, when he tried to pacified their fight.
On the complaint of security officer Sahil was also booked under Section 353 RPC (FIR 75/13) for obstructing employee to perform his duty.
Station House Officer (SHO) Varinder Gupta, Rajouri said "Sahil was also arrested by the police while Sehrab is untraced, however, police has launched manhunt against him"
When contacted Vice Chancellor BGSB University, IA Hamal said, "I am out of station and I have no details about the incident, talk to Registrar", but, when called Registrar of the University, Rashid Choudhary said, "talk to Principal, Engineering College, he will provide you better details."
Despite, several calls to Principal, Engineering College, Asgar, there was no reply.
