Senior BJP leader works hard for 2 NC candidates
LC elections

Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: A senior BJP leader has been working overtime to ensure smooth sailing of both the National Conference candidates in the Legislative Council elections from the quota of Kashmir valley. The leader, who has been recently assigned an important job, has been vociferously demanding that instead of supporting a Kashmiri Pandit candidate, who has filed his papers as Independent candidate, the party should not budge from its earlier stand on boycotting the elections.
If BJP boycott the Legislative Council elections it will ensure victory of both the NC candidates, Shoukat Ahmed Ganai and Abdul Majid Bhat. Insiders in the BJP said that this party has over-shadowed newly appointed State president Jugal Kishore Sharma who has so far failed to come out of the influence of this "powerful" leader who has been backing of senior national leader. "Sharma has been virtually following dictates of this leader and dancing to his tones. It is all due to the pressure of this leader that Jugal too is supporting the demand of boycotting the elections", they added.
A "tactful" political move of People’s Democratic Forum (PDF) chairman Mohammad Hakim Yaseen with the discreet support of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has landed ruling National Conference in a difficult situation because party finds it hard to ensure victory of both the candidates in Legislative Council elections from the quota of Kashmir valley.
A senior leader of Mohammad Hakim Yaseen's party Shiben Krishen Dudha has filed his nomination papers as Independent candidate. Some PDP MLAs have signed nomination papers of Dudha which authenticated that party has given discreet support to well-calculated political move of Hakim Yaseen.
National Conference, which is not in position to ensure victory of its candidates on its own has to seek support of other parties. If all the BJP MLAs including seven dissidents, who have been expelled by the party, would boycott only in that case the National Conference be in a position to win both the seats.
The NC is banking upon its "friend" in BJP, who has time and again bailed out the party from difficult situations.
