JAMMU, Feb 23: With rains continued for the whole day, the scheduled matches of the league round could not take place in the ongoing All India Inter-University Korfball Tournament, organised by the University of Jammu (JU) under the banner of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), here today.
However, positive about a sunny day tomorrow, the organizing committee has rescheduled both today's league matches. If, the participating teams would agree, there will be four league matches tomorrow.
"We visited the grounds this evening and found both the grounds wet. However, there was no water logging in the playing area, so we are hopeful of holding at least four league ties tomorrow," organizing secretary and Director Sports, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau told reporters.
He added that out of the total six league round matches among the semifinalist teams, two have been scheduled for the final day of the competition, i.e. February 25.
FIXTURE: League Round: PU Chandigarh V/s GNDU Amritsar; JU V/s MDU Rohtak; PU Chandigarh V/s MDU Rohtak; JU V/s GNDU Amritsar.
