| Normal life limps back to Valley, highway likely to re-open on Feb 26 | | | Saahil Suhail Anantnag, Feb 23: Again normalcy returned to valley after three days strike and curfew and normal life in the valley returned to its track, after separatist Leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's closed down call of his two years old strike calendar because of which he faced sharp criticism from all sections of the society. Meanwhile, Jammu-Srinagar Natio-nal Highway is likely to be reopened on Tuesday for one way traffic with due importance to stranded vehicles. Besides heavy rainfall and snowfall, people restarted their day to day activities for earning livelihood here in the valley that witnessed many curfew days since from February 9 on which Parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru was hanged in Tihar Jail, which disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the valley. Business establishments, private tuition centres, banks, government offices reopened early in the morning besides heavy rainfall and snowfall. Public as well as private transport started playing on the roads and due to blocking of drains in Anantnag town huge traffic Jams were witnessed during the day. Meanwhile, National Highway 1A, connecting valley to rest of the world remained closed due to rain, snowfall and landslides at various places. |
