EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu/Udhampur, Feb 23: The normal traffic remained suspended on the second consecutive day along on Jammu -Srinagar National Highway NH-IA suspended due to heavy snow fall in various areas on NHIA , and landslides at various landslide prone section on NH -A-1A, sources said. As per official sources, the 300 -km-long highway, this national highway the only link between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country remained closed to usual traffic after avalanches, besides heavy snowfall at various locations. Owing to the closure of highway today, hundreds of the vehicles remained stranded at various points of the highway and even in winter capital. According to the sources at least 670 vehicles including trucks and some other vehicles are standard in Udhampur District at Bye Pass, Rehambel, Dhar Road and some other places. According to officials the majority of link roads in upper reaches like Dudu-Basantgarh, Panchari, Dudu-Ramnagar, Sudhma-hadev & Mantali too rema-ined blocked due to heavy rain fall and snow fall . |
