| Fake PRC: CB registers case against accused | | | early times report Jammu, Feb 23: Crime Branch Jammu have registered a criminal case against one Bua Ditta and officials of the Revenue department for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy and preparing a fake/ fabricated Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC). A complaint was received by the J&K State Subject Inquiry Commission against Bua Ditta son of Sunder Megh of Mehlowal, R S Pura alleging he was not a bonafide State Subject and had managed the PRC by resorting to fraudulent means. During the course of inquiry, Bua Ditta produced a photostat copy of the PRC before the commission, which on verification was found fake as there was no such file under which the State Subject in question was shown to have been issued in the records. It was also found that the State Subject under the given serial number was issued in favour of one Des Raj son of Dhamu Ram of Majka Uttam R S Pura. The Commission finally held that Bua Ditta had tried to cheat and mislead the Commission by producing a fake State Subject Certificate in order to prove that he is a bonafide resident of the State, and has recommended registration of a criminal case into the matter. A formal case was registered against the accused and investigation is on. |
