ET Plus Report KATHUA, Mar 4: Tawla Cricket Club (TCC) today reached the semifinals of the Kathua Premier League (KPL) Twenty20 Tournament after they beat Stadium (Junior) XI by 13 runs in the quarterfinals played at Sports Stadium, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, TCC bowled out for 110 runs in 18 overs. In reply, Stadium XI could not reach the required total and bowled out for 97 runs in 19.3 overs. Kamaldeep remained top scorer with 37 runs from TCC while Sumit made 18 runs. From Stadium XI, Rajesh emerged as most successful bowler who took six wickets for 23 runs while Yogesh bagged two wickets. Later, Stadium XI lost all their wickets for 97 runs. Kulbushan and Jimmy were main scorers with 27 and 12 runs in their respective accounts. From TCC, Monty took three wickets while Hari Om bagged two. Rajesh was named man of the match for his six wickets. Meanwhile, in a pre-quarterfinal match of the day, Stadium (Senior) XI registered a huge 114 runs win against Kathua Knight Riders (KKR). Earlier, batting first, Stadium Seniors set a challenging target of 213 runs for six, which, in reply, KKR failed to overhaul and the whole side bowled out for 68 runs in 16.3 overs. Parshant made highest 28-ball 56 runs, followed by Arvind, who contributed 21-ball 32 runs. Sunny bagged two wickets while Vishal took one from KKR. Batting second, KKR could make just 68 runs in 16.3 overs, courtesy five wickets haul from Arvind. Sunny and Ajay were top scorers with 20 and 15 runs respectively. Besides Arvind's five wickets, Ravi also bowled well taking away three wickets. For his all-round performance, Arvind was named man of the match. Today's match was officiated by Dheeraj Andotra and Vikram Sharma while Pushkar maintained the score. |
