| Protest against second toll post at Chadwal | | | Et Plus Report
Kathua, Mar 4 : Large number of locals today held demonstration against second toll post, which is to be constructed at Seswan Morh near Chadwal.
The locals were gathered at Chadwal under the leadership of Prithipal Singh. Expressing resentment over the step of state government, Singh termed it the burden of taxes on the shoulders of innocent people who are already reeling under the fatal economic crisis.
"The fact is that few days s back Member of Parliament Lal Singh has laid foundation stone to keep the further execution of construction of second toll post of National Highway in between Lakhanpur to Chadwal in order to collect revenue from the pockets of innocent common man of the state" he said.
He said that government should not charge double toll tax within a few kilometers and charge only one tax road tax or toll tax. "The government do not try harass the people of Jammu to suffer further otherwise we will launch the state wide massive agitation against the ill and anti Jammu people policies of the government and for any dire consequences the government would itself be responsible" he added.
Singh alleged the government to adopt the callous attitude towards the common man and let them to face huge economic crisis, while it has been claimed by the state government so many times that government is committed to delivers services at the door steps of common man but in contrary all claims have been proved as bogus and fake till date. He accused the government for targeting the Jammu province of its discriminatory and ill policies and this move of state government to construct the new toll post at Seswan is the offshoots of prejudiced attitude and approach with Jammu people while leaving the Kashmiri to get all benefits and advantages of the policies. |
