Rajouri, Mar 4: Army organized a 'multi speciality curative & preventive health camp' to bring the specialized health services to the door step of villagers in Jhangar and adjoining areas. Defence spokesperson told that Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Battalion under the aegis of Force HQ in collaboration with District Medical Authorities and Red Cross Society organized this camp in which around 2348 patients ( 745 Male, 925 Female & 678 Children) were treated for different ailments/diseases by a joint team of experts drawn from Army & state health department. Earlier the camp was inaugurated by the GOC, Force HQ who spoke about the initiatives undertaken by the army under its goodwill gesture programme to strengthen the bond between army -civil population of border areas. . The family planning and welfare team conducted awareness on the subject. Free medicines were also distributed to the villagers on the occasion. Among experts who rendered their services included Dr Naresh Khajuria, Consultant (Gynae & Obstr), Dr Narender Singh, Consultant (Physician), Dr Vidushi, (MS ENT), Dr SS Anjal, MO, Dr Balbir Singh, MO, Dr Sonia Bhagat, Dental Surgeon, Dr Monika Manhas Dental Surgeon in the camp. Two wheel chairs were presented to disabled women i.e, Kumari Polly Devi, D/o Amarnath (Laroka) and Kumari Pitta Devi, D/o Sunny Lal (Sariyah) while crutches were also gifted to three handicap persons. A blood donation camp was also organized as a part of the programme in which Army jawans and civilians donated blood for the welfare of ailing people. Prominent citizens namely Zahoor Ahmed Shawl, CMO Rajouri, Raghubeer Singh, BMO Naushera, Hony Capt Jag Bahadur, Sarpanch (Bhawani 'A'), Jagdesh Chander, Sarpanch (Bhawani 'B'), Purshottam Lal, Sarpanch (Jhangar & Sariyah), Bahadur, Sarpanch (Kalsian), Bindu Choudahry, Sarpanch (Chowki), Vijay Kumar, Sarpanch (Laroka) were also present on the occasion. This was a pioneer project by the Army, District Medical Authority and Red Cross Society. |
