He said the execution of Guru was carried out on mere political considerations and partisan interests without actually following the law of the land. He said the political narrow mindedness has been designed such in the system that the country need not any enemies for destroying the democratic structures. Tarigami said the house needs to discuss the question about the implications of the execution and added that if the implications are not discussed, house will lose credibility. Tarigami said, "I understand the handicap of the state government, I don't know whether chief minister had prior information as some people believe, but I am sure, the arrogance which has settled in the system, has made Chief Minister's institutions redundant" He said the execution was carried out to satisfy the conscience of section of ultra nationalists, section of media and few other people.
"This feeling that Kashmiri are expendable will only reinforce the sections of the society who are benefited out of execution" said Tarigami.
Regretting that the execution has only thrown challenges in Kashmir, Tarigami said has it contributed in strengthening the national security is questionable "Whatever investment was made by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Manmohan Singh and achieved thereof is being questioned now" said Tarigami. "Whom the government of India has obliged- those who want to undermine the unity of country, where is the collective conscience" the Marxist leader said.
