| Workshop of health, hygiene organized | | | ET Plus Report
Kathua, Mar 12: Centre for Women Studies of Government Degree College, Kathua in collaboration with NGO Rashtriya Kissan Sangh, organized a workshop on the topic , "Health and Hygiene, Animal Health, Self-Employment Schemes for rural women and eradication of Social evils" , at village Chann Lal Din. Dr. Poonam Kalsi medical officer, Dr. Sher Singh Veterinary Doctor, Prof Tilak Raj Sharma, Prof. Ram Singh and Prof. Arun Dev Singh of Government Degree College, Kathua were the resource persons. In the beginning, Prof. Sujata Slathia, Director, Centre for Women Studies welcomed the guests and gave a detailed lecture on eradication of social evils. Prof. Jaswinder Singh, Prof. Mohinder Nath Sharma and Prof. Kiriti Rajput also expressed their views on different aspects for the up-liftment of rural women. Approximately 150 women, Rakesh Kumar Sarpanch of the village, Panches, social workers and members of the said NGO participated in the workshop. Shiv Dev Singh President, Rashtriya Kissan Sangh, Marheen appreciated the efforts of the organizers of the workshop for spreading awareness among rural women regarding health, hygiene, education, self employment schemes etc. In the end free OPD was also done by Dr. Poonam Kalsi. Proceedings of the workshop were conducted by Ms. Samriti Singh and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Anupma Arora. |
