JAMMU, Mar 12: Shashi Jamwal of Survey of India (SOI) retained the title in chess competition of Centre Government employees, organised by Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC), here today. In the final, Shashi Jamwal outplayed Raju Bhanotra of Principal Accountant General (PAG). Vijay Singh of Intelligence Bureau (IB) finished third after losing to Raju Bhanotra. Earlier, in the second round of the competition, Sanjeev Sharma of SOI beat Vinod Choudhary of the same department while Surinder Mohan outplayed Sandesh Kumar of PAG.
Similarly, Vijay Singh downed DK Jamwal of National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) and Saransh Sharma of NSSO trounced PS Jamwal of the same department. In another match, Raju Bhanotra registered win over Rajinder Gupta of Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
In the final, Director NSSO Jammu, Kishore Kumar was special guest, who congratulated the winner and runners-up. Earlier, the competition was declared open by Director General NSSO, Sher Singh. |
