Jammu, Mar 12: Young Panthers held protest demonstration at Press Club here against Kashmir based political parties "who are repeatedly making chaos in the Assembly" in the name of hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Senior State Vice-President, Young Panthers Pushvinder Manhas said that it was a matter of shame that top leadership of Kashmir including National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party showing respect for the Afzal by suffixing "sahib" to his name. He claimed these parties were defaming the Constitution of India and maligning the image of J&K state by giving respect to the militants in the assembly. Manhas said that no assembly has the power to challenge the decision of Supreme Court "but J&K assembly is witnessing hues and cries since budget session started." He appealed the Governor to dissolve the assembly with immediate effect and demanded that such parties should be banned to contest the elections in future. "If it could not be done, the only option left for the people of Jammu will be separate assemblies for Jammu and Kashmir provinces," he demanded. "It is time for the MLAs and Ministers of Jammu province to show unity in this matter as almost all the parties of Kashmir has shown on the issue of Afzal. It is also a lesson for those who voted for the parties belonging to Kashmir or Delhi," he added. Others who were present on the occasion included Manoj Kumar State Secretary, K K Sharma Provincial Secretary, Ravinder Jamwal President, Jammu Urban, Roshi Kumar Vice-President, Jammu Urban, Rawat Singh, Vikram Chib, Sunny Kesar, Vikram Singh and Sahil Jamwal. |
