| Singh appeals CS to order inquiry into BADP funds misappropriation in Samba | | | Et Plus Report
Vijaypur, Mar 17: Former minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh on has appealed the Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey to order enquiry into the misappropriation of funds under Border Area Development Prog ramme (BADP) in Samba district. "The border areas especially Kamor Camp of Vijaypur in Samba district has been facing official apathy despite the facts that the central government has given huge amount under BADP for the development of the border villages. However, the funds are misappropriated and used for some other areas," Singh alleged, while speaking in a public meeting. He said some developmental works were initiated in the past have been stopped and they still date remained incomplete. "The money BADP funds are being misappropriated with the connivance of political and bureaucratic nexus in the district which needs to be exposed before the public," Singh said, saying that there has been no water, electricity supply in Kamor camp where displaced persons of 1965 and 1971 have been living. |
