Jammu, Mar 17: Unusual happenings are on these days here in the winter capital of the state.
Amazingly, the unusual activities are going on between Legal Luminaries and Law enforcing agencies i.e. Men in Khaakhi.
While the senior police officers concerned are tight-lipped over the issue, highly placed sources in Police department revealed to Early Time Plus that yesterday, a group of lawyers caught hold of a sub-inspector rank police officer and allegedly thrashed him mercilessly.
"Even though the sub-inspector cried for help but by the time senior advocates and security personnel could intervene and save him, the uniform of the officer was torn and he also received some bruises," shared eyewitnesses further adding that "immediately after the incident the senior police officers too reached the district court premises and tried to ascertain the reason behind the brawl. During deliberations between the senior lawyers and police officers, it came to light that both the sub-inspector and the lawyer had some tiff, few months ago, over some issue in Bishnah area."
"However, when the sub-inspector reached the court premises, yesterday, again the duo had some heated exchanged of words followed by a clash. Both of them accused each other for the clash. Later, after the intervention of senior lawyers including some of the office bearers of the Bar Association, Jammu, some senior Prosecuting Officers and senior police officers, the matter was sorted out," shared sources.
"However," sources further informed, "the things did not settle completely as later in the evening, two lawyers were stopped at one of the checking points in city area and were frisked. Irate over the attitude of the Cops on duty, they objected to it and were allegedly roughed up. Again after the intervention of senior officers, the matter was sorted out."
While a section of lawyers say that the attitude of Cops is like that of dictators, some police officers on the condition of anonymity commented that "there are certain Lawyers who think that they can do whatever they want to do and there is no law to check them."
