| Death anniversary observed | | | Jammu, Mar 17: Fifth death anniversary of Lala Shiv Charan Gupta was observed at Udhampur on today. The programme was presided over by Samiti's President Chajju Ram Shastri, Political and social activists. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of lamp and garlanding the portrait of Lala ji. Paying tributes, Chander Mohan Sharma said that Late Lala Shiv Charan Gupta had a very soft heart but was stick to his principles and never compromised on them. "He was a great visionary, who always advocated adequate political empowerment of Jammu province to end decades old discrimination" he added. Another speaker, Satish Sharma said that Lala Shiv Charan Gupta still lives in the hearts of masses as he was dear to them due to his commitment and selfless work. He appealed the party activists to adopt the ideology of Lalaji in their lives. Paying tribute to great leaders, Pawan Gupta said that there is an undercurrent across the country for a change and we all have to put our best efforts to ensure that the BJP gets strengthened in future and we play an important role in decision making bodies. Earlier, Chajju Ram Shastri narrated a number of incidents which prove the ties of trust and understanding between the people and Lalaji and appealed not to get misled by the false promises of pro-separatist political parties. Other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. |
