Kishtwar, Mar 21: Javed Ahmed Zarger, a prominent trade union leader and close associate of MLA Mohammad Yousaf Tarigami was removed from the post of General Secretary of Chenab Hydro Power Project Union (CHPPWU), the decision of which was taken in an official meeting of general council of union held at head office Kishtwar.
In a statement issued by the President of the CHPPWU Abdul Subhan the Union has shown serious concern over the anti-union activities carried by the few members and during the course of the meeting, it was suggested that for the better functioning of the union, Zarger shall be hence forth removed from his post "in view of serious allegations of corruption and misappropriation of funds were levelled against him by the members and for his anti union activities.
"The statement stated that despite repeated request to Zarger, he did not attended the office neither managed to clear his position before the union despite number of opportunities given to him to explain his position over the allegation of corruption charges.
After removing the Zarger from the post the Union unanimously appointed Tariq Hussain Butt as its new General Secretary till further decision. Among the prominent who attended the meeting included Mushtaq Ahmed, Nissar Ahmed Mir, Haroon Rashid Butt, Abdul Wahid Baghwan, Mohammad Abass Sheikh, Yassir Naj-jar, Mushtaq Ahmed Mir, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganie, Babu Ram, Kashmiri Lal and Kailash Chander. |
