| NC appeases New Delhi, Kamaal fools Kashmiris: Sharma | | | ET Plus Report
srinagar, Mar 21: Claiming that Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal issues anti-Army and anti- Congress statements at the behest of party leadership, Minister of State for Higher Education and Fisheries and senior Congress leader Manohar Lal Sharma said that to appease both Delhi and the people of Kashmir, Kamaal has been given liberty to say what he likes.
"It's our compulsion to form Government with National Conference. The more we try to sort out our difference, the more differences arise. Congress and NC are two faces of the same coins which can never meet," Manohar Lal Sharma told a local news agency adding that the way Mustafa Kamaal is issuing statements amply makes it clear that the party is befooling people.
Without naming PDP, Sharma said that some people tried to befool people of Kashmir by raising the issue of Afzal Guroo and when they felt that they are helpless and can't do anything, they simply boycotted the session and gave people an impression that they are their well wishers. "Assembly is not a fish market but the people who raise anti-national issues have turned it into fish market.
Defending Sham Lal Sharma, Minister of State said that Sham never talked about something which can be anti-national. "He (Sham Lal Sharma) knows the reality and he wants to make people aware about the hidden agenda of political parties of Kashmir.
He said that Congress party fully opposes the concept of Autonomy and Self rule. "If National Conference knows that Congress is against autonomy, why is it seeking their support to form the Government?
"Same applies to PDP, this party knew that Congress is against Self-Rule; still it formed the Government with the help of our party. I must tell you that these parties are befooling people of Kashmir and they can go to any extent to grab power," he said.
Claiming that Congress party has been expressing its displeasure over the statements issued by Mustafa Kamaal, Sharma said that National Conference is trying to appease no only Delhi but people of Kashmir as well. "It is the strategy of National Conference to hit the target without injuring anyone. The overall leadership of the party appeases New Delhi by their statements while Mustafa Kamaal has been assigned the job to appease Kashmiri people. We know it well and on that basis we don't give any weightage to the statements issued by Mustafa Kamaal. |
