Et Plus Report Srinagar, Mar 21 (CNS): District Treasury officer was beaten in broad day light in North Kashmir's Handwara Tehsil on Thursday. "Some employees from Kamraj Division Forest, Kupwara forcibly entered into my office and beat to pulp. They not only beat me but also my subordinates and smashed the window panes of the office. These 'goons' ransacked the furniture and threw files from the doors reasons known to them," District Treasury Officer, Bashir Ahmed told CNS. According to reports, dozens of employees from Kamraj Division Forest Kupwara entered into the office of District Treasury Officer, Kupwara and beat him to pulp. Agitated employees caught hold of several other employees and thrashed them with sticks and rods. District Treasury Officer, Kupwara, Bashir Ahemd said that police didn't take cognizance of this act and allowed them to a free hand. However, District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Sarmad Hafiz told CNS that he has ordered an enquiry into the matter. "I have directed an inquiry into the matter and the culprits will be brought to book," he said. |
