| Opposition’s boycott of session: PDP yet to hear from Govt | | | ET Plus Report
Srinagar, Mar 21 : A day after Business Advisory Committee of state Assembly deputed law and Parliamentary Affairs Minster to formally urge opposition Peoples Democratic Party to revisit their decision of boycotting the house proceedings, the party Thursday expressed ignorance of receiving any such request. "We haven't seen anyone coming here from government side. Our decision stands unchanged as of now," Chief Spokesman PDP Nayeem Akhter said.
He lashed out at National Conference for what he said accusing PDP of having aggressive mood from day one of the proceedings. "The NC actually wants a paralyzed opposition which cannot happen.
They should know it is a requirement of democracy that being largest opposition party of the state we have to be aggressive and they have to be accountable.
But instead they never let us speak and always try to suppress our voice," he asserted.
Akhtar alleged that as long as PDP was present in the House Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hardly remained present. "But after our boycott he (Omar) has been there form morning to evening, addressing empty benches.
CM takes all this as his achievement. That is a kind of house the NC is really comfortable with." |
