| Revenue minister reviews relief, rescue measures launched in Earthquake hit areas | | Asks admn to reach out with adequate relief to affected people | | Early Times REport
Jammu, May 2: The Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation (Indpt Charge), Ajaz Ahmed Khan today asked the divisional and district administration to reach out to the people with adequate relief to the affected people. Reviewing the relief and rescue operation launched in the Earthquake hit areas of Doda, Kishtwar districts, here today at a high level meeting of civil and police officers, the Minister asked the concerned to ensure that the affected people get every type of help at this hour of distress. He specially stressed on reaching out to the people living in far flung and inaccessible areas of the affected districts and asked all the departments to swing the men and machinery in action to restore the Public Utility services wherever damaged. The Minister also called for early renovation of the damaged schools, if any, and directed the concerned to shift the students of such schools to a suitable accommodation for their safety till the main building was restored. Earlier, the meeting was informed that maximum number of injured persons, barring 2 of Kishtwar district and five of Doda district , have been discharged from the hospitals. It was disclosed that out of eight persons injured in Kishtwar, only two are still in the Hospital and their condition is stable, while out of 45 injured in Doda district only 5 are still in hospital and were responding to the treatment. |
