| Inculcate moral values, discipline among students: Bhalla to teachers | | Air Force School Satwari celebrates annual day | | Early Times REport
Jammu, May 2: Air Force School Jammu today organized a colourful function here at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, to celebrate its 44th Annual Day. Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion, while Air Commodore, P.E Patange was the guest of honour. Group Captain, Shashikant Pati, Flight Lieutenant, Karishma Sethi, senior officers of Air Force, parents and students were also present on the occasion. Describing the youth as the future leaders, Mr. Bhalla said that extra-curricular activities are an essential component of the education process for preparing the students to effectively face future challenges. Mr. Bhalla said the aim of education is not merely passing examinations but to also produce balanced personalities. He said that alongside academic pursuit other activities provide an excellent opportunity for the youth to exhibit and develop their creative talents besides, acquire knowledge which would help them to lead harmonious lives. Appreciating the efforts of school management for organizing the programme which can boost the morale of the students, he said side by side academics they can exhibit their hidden talent and explore their creativity and innovations.. Mr. Bhalla wished students and school management heights of success in the future. He said that during the last 20 years of turmoil in the state, Indian Air Force and para-military forces played a vital role to curb terrorist activities. He said that it is a matter of pride for the state that it has one of the best Air Force School. He also lauded the efforts of the Chairman of the school for his better monitoring and management. The Minister urged the teaching fraternity to impart quality education, besides inculcate moral values and discipline among students as teachers are the best architect who can give shape to the students. He said that like teachers parents shall also take keen interest in nurturing their wards. The Minister was also honoured by presenting a memento by Air Commodore, P.E Patange. Earlier, Colourful cultural items were presented by the school children depicting cultural ethos of the region which were highly applauded by the audience. The trophy for best student of the year was presented to Simarpreet Singh of class 12th and Riya Jamwal of class 11th, besides other consolation prizes in the shape of trophies were distributed among meritorious students by the chief guest. Principal of the school, Mr. Vikesh Sandhal, presented vote of thanks. |
