GUREZ: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various areas of Gurez which included Kanzalwan, Mastan, Dawar and Budogam Tulail of tehsil Gurez and took stock of developmental works under execution in these areas. He also visited Sub-District Hospital Gurez and inspected various sections including OPD Unit, Registration, Laboratory, Minor Operation Theatre, ECG and X-Ray and Dental Section besides Block Medical Officer’s office and enquired about the medicare facilities being extended to the patients besides took stock of availability of medicines and other necessities in the Hospital. The Minister interacted with the patients, attendants and the staff members and enquired about availability of modern equipments for use in Operation Theatre and residential accommodation for doctors and para-medics. . He announced Rs 1.20 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for purchase of Bio-Chemistry Analyser. Earlier, the Minister convened a meeting with the Tehsil level officers and reviewed the overall pace of progress of works under execution. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez briefed the Minister about the developmental activities apace in the tehsil. While, taking review of PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control and R&B departments, the Minister directed the concerned officers to gear up their field functionaries, conduct survey of the areas and identify the uncovered areas who were not been provided adequate drinking water facility and road connectivity till date. He asked them to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) in this regard and submit the same for accord of necessary sanction. Mr. Gurezi also directed them to involve local people while framing DPRs for any project.With regard to the agriculture sector, it was informed in the meeting that under Seed Scheme, 501 qtls potato seed tubers, 90 qtls under contingency plan were distributed free of cost, 21 qtls peas under contingency plan and cluster and 2 qtls of maize were distributed among the farmers of the Gurez tehsil during the current year. It was also informed that under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) vegetable hybrid seed worth Rs 5 lakh were distributed free of cost among the farmers. |
