SRINAGAR: Minister for Forest, Mian Altaf Ahmed and Minister for Housing, Horticulture & Culture, Mr. Raman Bhalla took a joint review of various on-going health projects across the State at a high-level meeting held here today. Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan, Minister of State for Technical Education, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani, MLA Bishnah, Mr. Ashwani Sharma were also present in the meeting. The meeting took a detailed review of status of various projects being executed by the J&K Housing Board and stressed the need for their time bound completion. The Ministers impressed upon the Housing Board authorities to focus on quality control strictly according to the laid down specifications. The Agency was directed to double their efforts to accomplish the projects in targeted period. The meeting discussed several issues related to the construction and status of each hospital project. It was informed that the pace of progress is as per the schedule and projects will be handed over to the department in time. The Housing Board urged the authorities for earmarking the required funds without any delay so that the works are completed without the financial constraints.The meeting was further informed that projects over Rs. 400 crore are under execution by the J&K Housing Board across the State and are at different stages of completion. The meeting emphasized the need for close coordination between the executing agency and health department and strengthening the monitoring mechanism for achieving the tangible results on ground. The Minister of State for Health directed the Mission Director, NRHM and Directors Health Services, Kashmir, Jammu and MD Housing Board to personally monitor the progress of each project to ensure their time bound completion. Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education, Mr. Shaleen Kabra, Mission Director, NRHM, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Secretary J&K Housing Board, Mr. Ram Paul Sharma and other senior officers of health department and housing board were also present on the occasion. |
