SRINAGAR: The Board of Directors of J&K State Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd (J&K SAIDCL) today approved the implementation of 6th pay Commission for the employees of the Corporation from August 1st, 2013 with 50% of existing DA. The Decision was taken in the 63rd BOD’s meeting of the J&K SAIDCL here this afternoon. The Meeting was chaired by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Ghulam Hassan Mir, who is also the Chairman of the Board. The BOD’s took this decision after the Corporation showed upward trend in its financial growth from last couple of years regularly. Principal Secretary Planning and Development, Mr. B.R. Sharma, Principal Secretary Finance, Mr. B.B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Shantmanu, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Mr. S.C. Rabra, Director Agriculture Jammu, Mr. Ajay Khajuria, Director Agriculture Kashmir, MushtaqPeerzada, Director Horticulture, Special Secretary Finance and Managing Director, JKSAIDCL, Mr. Abdul MajidBhat were present in the meeting. The Board also gave nod for auctioning 24 kanals of SIDCO leased land at Bari Brahamina Jammu, approval for current Annual Plan of the Corporation; modernization of Cattle feed plant at Bari Brahamina, renovation of Agro show room, modernization of Food and Honey Processing Plant and Common Facility Centre at Delhi. The Board also directed MD to send the case of confirmation of officers and officials to Administrative Department for further scrutiny. While appreciating the efforts of employees of the Corporation for strengthening its financial growth for last so many years, the Chairman said that the objective of the Corporation is not only to make profit but also to provide support to agriculture/ horticulture activities particularly in marketing of produce. Urging the management to work with same dedication for making the Corporation sustainable, the Minister said that the targets fixed by the Board should be achieved in letter and spirit as it is pivotal for the health of the Corporation. He said with the efforts of the management all the units of the Corporation are on profit. Hailing the efforts of Managing Director for providing market linkage to the saffron growers, Mr. Mir said that these efforts have ensured higher returns to these growers from saffron.
