Poonch, July 30: Mystery shrouded death of Havaldar of 5 Grenadiers, who died in alleged accidental fire from his weapon in Mendhar sub sector of Poonch, during late night hours on Monday. The army claimed that Havildar Sogam Singh was part of ambush party manning the border in Phagwari Gali, when he slipped from a narrow track and his loaded gun went off accidently, killing him on the spot. Before he could be shifted to nearby medical centre he succumbed to his injuries. Sogam was a resident of village Adda in Mathura tehsil of Uttar Pardesh and had 18 years service in the army. |
