Geelani forcing non-Kashmiris not to rent houses to K Muslims
Another outrageous Diktat

JAMMU, July 30: On Monday, fanatic and hardcore pro-Pakistan Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who has been taking recourse to an extreme type of politics and poisoning the minds of the gullible Kashmiri Muslims since decades, especially the ones belonging to his religious sect, made a highly provocative statement, which has the potential of forcing the non-Kashmiris in Jammu Pradesh and rest of the Country not to rent out houses and other premises to Kashmiri Muslims.
Not just this, his highly provocative and communally-motivated statement can also culminate in a situation across the country that could prove very fatal for the Kashmiri Muslims. There could be attacks on Kashmiris living in different parts of the country and if it happens, the results would be disastrous. Geelani and ilk alone would be responsible if something untoward happens to Kashmiri Muslims living outside the state.
What exactly did he atrocious and abominable statement say? It said: "Kashmiris should not rent out parts of their houses to outsiders (those hailing from other states of the country)". "Kashmiris (must) desist from allowing people from outside Jammu and Kashmir (read outside Kashmir) to stay with them as tenants," the statement also said. It is obvious that the immediate targets of Geelani, among other Indians, were labourers from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and other states, who come to Kashmir every year in March and go back to their original habitats latest by October. They come to Kashmir to earn their livelihood. He not only seemingly targeted them but also told Kashmiri Muslims to see to it that they do not live with non-Kashmiris under the "same roof".
Geelani did not spare even the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. Condemning the Shrine Board, the statement of Geelani said that the authorities have politicized this institution to promote the Indian agenda. "However, India has politicised it (yatra) for its political and military objectives. The Amarnath Shrine Board has emerged as a 'state within the state' and increase in number of yatris up to nine lakh has affected badly the environment, forests and water resources," said fanatic Geelani.
The statements of Geelani on non-Kashmiris and the Shri Amarnath Yatra and Amarnath Shrine Board are dangerous by any standard. The State Government would do well to take cognizance of these statements and act accordingly. It is a must. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, JKPCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz and similar other Kashmiri leaders have in the past expressed concern over certain incidents targeting Kashmiris in different parts of the country. Their concern was genuine. But their problem is not the non-Kashmiris; their problem is the fanatics like Geelani who make provocative statements at regular intervals and provoke anti-Kashmiri protests in different parts of the country. They need to surmount this problem. The sooner it happens, the better.
