Jammu, July 30: Three Gymnasts and a Coach from the state have been selected for the first coaching camp in gymnastics for the next commonwealth games to be held in 2014. 69 campers, including 12 coaches shall be part of the first camp that gets underway from August 1 at JLN stadium New Delhi. The campers include 27 men, 30 women gymnasts from all across the country.
The list includes 7 gymnasts from Railways, 10 from the Services, 11 from Maharashtra, 10 from UP, 8 from West Bengal, 2 from Punjab, 3 from J&K, 2 from Uttrakhand and 1 from Tripura.
According to the letter no. SAI/TD/NCC/GYMNASTICS (M & W)/2013-14 of Sports Authority of India, dated 29 July 2013, the Gymnasts from the state namely Mitali, Palak Kour and Mridul Gupta have been named amongst 10 Indian probables, while Krupali Patel Singh has been nominated as the coach of the Women Rhythmic team.
The camp shall conclude on September 29, 2013, after which the respective coaches shall recommend the names of core probables for the succeeding camps towards preparation for the Commonwealth games. |
