Kishtwar July 30: Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organized a veterinary camp at Nagrina on Tuesday. According to defence spokesperson the camp was undertaken as part of Operation Sadbhavana and was very heavily subscribed by local cattle owners, Gujjars and Bakarwals in remote area having large numbers of migratory dears in the region. Government veterinary doctors from animal husbandry department actively participated in the event. Approximately 3200 cattles from villages of Keshwan, Saranwan, Thakrai, Anjol, Hydar, Tibba and Kontwara benefited from the camp and also distributed medicines for their cattles. "The camp was inaugurated by the Second-In-Command of the Jangalwar based Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, speaking on the occasion he underlined that livestock is the backbone of economy of this region and we must adopt scientific developments in the field of rearing of livestock to earn better dividends." |
