| BJP holds protest against coalition govt for not conducting municipal, BDC election | | | ET Report
KATHUA, July 30: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against coalition government for its failure to hold municipal council and block samiti election in the state at Mukharji Chowk, Kathua. District president Advocate Vijay Sharma led the protest demonstration. He accused the NC-Congress coalition for forcing the people to face local problems like non availability of proper streets, lanes and drains, street lights and several others by not conducting the said elections. He said the recommendations of Panchayat act 73rd and 74th had to be brought in the state to protect the rights of the people but state government in which Congress is the main player deliberately ignored the elections with a designed strategy of state government to appease their Kashmiri masters. He said that the BJP will conduct its protest demonstration in support Municipal and Block Samiti election which is the long pending genuine demand of the people of the state and for which the BJP will never quit. |
