| DB issues directions to Div Com, DC Reasi | | Letter to CJ regarding illegal construction at railway station treated as PIL | | Et Report
Jammu, July 30: A letter written to Chief Justice High Court which levelled serious allegations against CEO Katra Development Authority regarding illegal constructions around the upcoming Railway Station at Katra was treated as Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and listed before the Division Bench on Tuesday. The DB comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey after going through the contents of the letter observed that the information provided in the letter is of public importance and since there is a specific allegations against CEO Katra Development Authority which given an impression that he is in hand and glove with those who are raising illegal constructions around the Railway Station Katra. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Reasi as respondents were issued notices returnable within four weeks and were asked to personally visit the spot and verify the facts regarding unauthorized constructions carried out in and around Railway Station. "They may also join CEO Katra Development Authority for on spot inspection," it added. The DB also directed the Div Com and DC to ensure that no illegal construction is carried out any further and lapse on their part is in compliance to the order shall be taken seriously. In the letter it has been mentioned that illegal construction be carried around the upcoming Railway Station which according to complainant is within the knowledge of Katra Development Authority. |
