Jammu, July 30: Craving for justice, an octogenarian widow Chand Rani of Salehar RS Pura, whose land records have been forged by her relative, Tuesday made a fervent appeal before district administration Jammu to stop further deferment of case, which is pending before SDM RS Pura.
Addressing media persons, Chand Rani said that she has inherited 16 Kanals of land under Khasra number 1799/1142 from her parental property. "As I was living at my parental house, my father Chatter Singh expired in year 1968 and I was left alone with my 3 year old daughter. So I decided to live with my cousin Raghubir Singh Charak", she said, adding that later Raghubir Singh managed to transfer her land's Girdawri on his own name. She further said that in year 1990, she came to know about transfer of her land's Girdawri and in year 2010, she appealed before Tehsildar settlement RS Pura for correction and rectification of error by wrong entry in the record.
Chand Rani further claimed that Yogeshwar son of Ragubir Singh had himself admitted before Tehsildar that Chand Rani was in possession of land since 30 years and the then Tehsildar RS Pura decided the case in her favour, but later he took back his decision.
She further rued that in 2010-2011, the then Tehsildar Sanjay Badyal visited on spot and issued order for correction and rectification of wrong entry in record of Khasra Girdawari in her favour but again due to some politically pressure, the then Tehsildar tool his order back.
"Then again in year 2011-2011, application for correction for wrong entry in record was given before SDM RS Pura Suraj Parkash Rakwal and when he was about to give the final decision, Yogeshwar Singh for the third time manage to transfer the case to settlement officer Gol
Gujral on August, 1, 2012", she claimed.
She further said that Yogeshwar Singh was now forcibly trying to capture her land illegally, adding that the next date of hearing was scheduled on August, 3, 2013 and Yogeshwar Singh would try his best to transfer the case.
She further said that Yogeshwar Singh, Milkha and Usha Kumari have been harassing her since last many years and even threatening for dire consequences. "Being a widow and having no source of income, I am running from pillar to post for the last many years. I humbly request administration to stop further deferment of case on humanitarian ground", she appealed. At the time of purchase, the sellers were told that they would be responsible for any malfunction in the first five years." aims had to pay extra for the long-term maintenance contracts. "Such contracts should be encouraged. We do not have to chase the sellers every time something goes wrong," he said.
