Two held with 21 Kgs poppy straw at Kud 7/30/2013 11:26:47 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 30:In continuation to drive launched by Police against drug peddlers/smugglers indulging in illegal trade of drugs, Police arrested two narcotic smugglers and seized 21.300 Kgs of poppy straw (Bhuki) which was recovered from his possession. Giving details, Anil Magotra, SSP Udhampur told that Kud Police while conducting routine checking near Main Bazaar Kud intercepted a truck (JK02W/3317). "During thorough search of the truck, 21 Kgs 300 Gm. of Poppy Straw (Bhuki) concealed in the tool box was recovered and driver identified namely as Nazarat Ali S/o Mohd. Yousaf R/o Gura Suraj, Kathua, accompanied by another narcotic smuggler Mumtaz Ali S/O Mohd Bashir R/O Mohni Bakhta Rajbagh Kathua were arrested on the Spot and vehicle seized. In this connection, a case FIR No. 91/2013 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Kud against the said accused persons.
