| Food Craft Institute at Nagrota assured | | BSP delegation calls on Union Secretary Tourism | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: A delegation of Bahujan Samaj Party led by its State General Secretary Rakesh Wazir met union Secretary Tourism Parvez Dewan in New Delhi and requested him to expedite the sanction release of Food Craft Institute (Hotel Management) at Nagrota for students of Jammu & Kashmir. Wazir briefed him that there is lot of employment opportunities for the Hotel Management trained people at Katra, Jammu, Kashmir and other parts of the country particularly keeping in view the rising tourism industry in State and country as well. Parvez Dewan listened to the delegation patiently and after on spot discussion with J&K Commissioner Secretary Tourism Atul Dullo, he requested him to get the land identified for the FCI at Jagti Nagrota transferred to the government appointed society that will run the FCI. Dewan assured the delegation that the FCI would be started at the earliest and its location would be Jagti Nagrota and Union Ministry of Tourism will provide Rs 4.5 crore for the project. The delegation thanked the union Secretary for taking the keen interest in the matter and for giving on spot instructions for the same. It is pertinent to mention here that Dewan is the J&K State cadre IAS Officer and have served on various important positions in the state including Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Commissioner Secretary tourism, Principal Secretary to Governor during Governors. |
