JAMMU, July 30: Chairperson, Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Home Affairs, Venkaiah Naidu, today directed Union Home secretary Anil Goswami to take cognizance of the J&K High Court ruling and implementation of Supreme Court judgment in connection with the relief entitlement of Jammu Migrants. Naidu gave this direction after hearing Panthers Party Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh and its President, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA during the meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs with the representatives of the Kashmiri & Jammu Migrants. Prof. Bhim Singh in his submission along with Mankotia told the Standing Committee chaired by Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of L.K. Advani and others that the Govt. of J&K has defied the direction of the Supreme Court given in Panthers Party's writ petition in 2006 to provide regular relief to the Jammu Migrants at par with Kashmiri Migrants. Supreme Court had also directed the Govt. of India and the Govt. of J&K to pay balance of arrears to the Jammu Migrants which amounted to Rs.21 crores. He told the members of the Committee that Jammu Migrants have not been registered properly, instead, thousands of the names were deleted by the administration. He told the high power committee of the Parliament that J&K Govt. was interested to implement Dixon Plan to create an Islamic Republic of Kashmir by dissecting Muslim majority areas of Jammu Pradesh. He accused the National Conference for bringing Pak-trained terrorists to J&K via Nepal. He also blamed the Central leadership for completely ignoring the Jammu Migrants at all levels in giving concessions. He said that Govt. of India had insured special jobs to the Kashmiri migrants, the Kashmiri Migrants are getting special admissions in other states in the educational institutions whereas Jammu Migrants have not been provided any package in services, educational institutions nor the monthly allowance. On the request of Prof. Bhim Singh, Venkaiah Naidu announced that he will send a sub-committee to study the situation regarding the Jammu Migrants as well as the Kashmiri Migrants.Parliamentary Committee asks MHA to consider relief for Jammu migrants |
