Jammu, Sept 8: Jammu Province Peoples Forum (JPPF) has expressed resentment over the way some of the business houses of Jammu have seen raided by Income Tax authorities causing harassment not only to the concerned houses but sending shock wave in entire Jammu region. Reacting to the raids, particularly in Jammu, the president Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj questioned the IT authorities for their continuous raids spread over short intervals in Jammu and ignoring deliberately the Kashmir province perhaps due to policy of discrimination with Jammu in every sphere. Speaking further, the president stated that JPPF is never opposed to the normal raids to unearth the theft of taxes but the same should also spread to entire J&K as taking for granted that there is no tax evasion in Kashmir Valley will definitely be a folly. Asserting the discrimination with Jammu by the State and Centre Govt, the president pointed out that funds are flown directly from Delhi to Srinagar whereby rendering the Jammuites as mere spectators and instead burst of raids are inflicted upon the law abiding people of Jammu who contributes 70% of the tax collection for the whole state. JPPF is already involved in struggle with the Kashmir Centric Govt for discrimination against Jammu in every sphere of employment, developmental activities. Whereas unemployed educated youths of Jammu is frustrated, the valley youth engaged in stone pelting against Govt. are provided lucrative police jobs. Rehabilitation of surrendered militants is on the top agenda of Kashmir Centric Government. The refugees of Jammu province dislocated during 1947, 1965, 1971, & 1989 are suffering for want of Govt. attention and their rehabilitation is confined to mere papers only. JPPF has already raised its voice for separate Public Service Commission and Subordinate Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) so that the frustration of Jammu youth gets respite. Prominent among those who were present in meeting include Indeerjit Khajuria, Amrit Magotra, Avinash Bhatia, S Gajan Singh, M.L Sharma, K K Paroch, Gajan Singh Khajuria, B L Bhardwaj, M S Katoch, Rajiv Mahajan and others. |
