| A poor father complains of harassment to his domestic help son | | Police accused of conniving with accused Police officer | | Abodh Sharma
Jammu, Sept 8: Father of a teenage boy, a student of class X has filed a written complaint with the SDPO Gandhinagar, complaining of witch hunting and harassment against a police officer of the rank of inspector and his wife, a government teacher; and also a sub inspector and the SHO of a police station in Jammu for allegedly conniving with the accused in persecuting the juvenile. Mohan Lal Mehta, R/O Village Qusoo Kaira in Udhampur in his complaint has submitted that a frivolous and false FIR has been filed against his teenage son, Ankush Mehta on the behest of a concocted complaint of an inspector in J&K Police, presently posted at Poonch and his wife a teacher by profession wherein his son has been charged of theft of cash and gold ornaments. The complainant has also charged a sub inspector and SHO of a police station in the city of intimidation and connivance with the accused inspector and his wife. Narrating the tale of his woes, Mohan lal has stated that his son was taken as domestic help by the said inspector and his wife by his neighbour who was already working as domestic help in the house of Inspector’s Sister-in-law. Poor Mohan Lal agreed to send his son Ankush on the condition that his masters shall ensure further education of Ankush who was studying in class VI; But Ankush was subjected to inhuman treatment, made to work for prolonged hours and even sent to other peoples’ house for working at farms and in construction. He was seldom sent to school, but his attendance was managed by Inspector’s wife, through her influence being a teacher herself. After bearing the abuse and trauma for three years, Ankush returned home and refused to return. Mohan Lal alleged that he was threatened repeatedly by the inspector and his teacher wife that they shall implicate his son in false case if he did not return to work. Ankush who had meanwhile been employed at another household at Sainik Colony Jammu and admitted in class X, was rounded up by police after a false FIR was lodged against him on Aug 5, 2013 by his former masters as they had threatened. He was charged with theft of cash and gold. Mohan Lal alleged that the concerned SHO was a close friend of said Inspector and hence was arm twisting him to send his son back to work at his place. He is being summoned to the police station repeatedly eventhough he was released on absolute bail on August 17 and pressurized to return to the house of said Inspector. |
