Srinagar, Sep. 8: Feeling ‘cheated’ in the KAHDC controversy, Congress on Sunday said that it was considering a legal action against its ally National Conference if the latter did not revoke the nomination of its four members to the council. State president of the party Prof. Saif ud din Soz told that his party would be satisfied only when the order of the nominations was revoked.
While reacting to National Conference Patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s statement that NC would not become an impediment for congress in forming the council, Soz said, they have not been officially conveyed about the decision.” If NC has really realized they must revoke the order and convey it officially to congress.” Soz said, adding that his party was looking for a legal discourse if the differences were not ironed out through negotiations. “we are considering of resorting to legal discourse if they don’t revoke the order.” Soz said.
Meanwhile senior Congress leader and a probable candidate for the chairmanship of the KAHDC Asgar Karbali blamed senior National conference leader and Minster for Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather for creating the mess and said that it was Rather who engineered the whole controversy. He said that Rather misled the Chief Minister over the nomination issue. He said that NC leadership has not communicated revocation decision to Congress yet.
“The government cannot issue an order of nomination without taking its ally on board. They have to revoke it.” Karbali told. He added that as per the seat arrangements, Congress must get two members as its share out of the four nominated seats. The party has 15 members while as NC has 11 in the 30 member council. |
