Jammu, Nov 25: Ahead of Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi's 'Lalkar Rally' scheduled for December 1, tight security arrangements has been made here. The main venue 'Maulana Azad Stadium' has also been put under siege by the security forces by raising barricades while no common man except officials of the stadium are being allowed to visit the premises. "We have laid a cordon in and around the venue for peaceful conduct of the show," a senior police official here said. He said that the security personnel are directed to keep watch on anti-social or anti-national elements and also to keep surveillance on any suspect if found around the venue. "They have also been directed to maintain the entry register and note down the names, address, occupation besides contact number of the visitor and the person only with authentic identity card is being allowed to visit the Stadium for official purpose," he added. Meanwhile the sports activities at the stadium have come to a halt due to security reasons. Besides state police contingents, para-military troops will also be deployed at the venue. |
